The future of Quality fast beating slow

Big will not Beat Small Anymore. It will be the Fast Beating the Slow.

The business world today is often described as VUCA. An acronym for Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous. VUCA requires a different mindset (hence the E in the E.P.I.C model stands for Exponential) and in particular a fast response as a way of life.

Fast response is not limited to the time it takes you to react to a specific inquiry. It also the time it takes for everybody in the organization to comply with key quality processes. Flexibility is the name of the new game. The global business environment expects the organization to address complex requests in a relatively short time.
If core quality processes are relays on bureaucracy and inflexibility, what would you think will happen? Yeh.. .exactly that. You will make your position and your team irrelevant.

Its time for self-reflection. Most people rate their quality systems and infrastructure as far away from VUCA (some even say its the complete opposite).

How would you describe the rhythm of your quality system and core processes? Is it a fast-moving or takes longer to respond?
If you will rate your core quality processes, how would you score speed of response on a 1 to 10 scale, when ten is the best?
